Police files charges against 3 illegal drug traders


Three suspects of illegal drug trading

arrested in Margosatubig buy-bust


PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 4, 2015) --- The Margosatubig Municipal Police Station (MPS) had files charges Friday morning to the provincial prosecutor’s officer against the 3 suspected involved in illegal drug trafficking in the said town.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said the arrest of the suspects was the result of month-long surveillance operations.

The joint operatives of the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Margosatubig MPS, Provincial Intelligence Branch PIB-ZSPPO and the Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion successfully raided the suspect’s residence Thursday at about 1:00 pm at Sitio Marisa, Brgy. Poblacion of the said town of this province.

Ecaldre identified the 3 suspects as Jusabi Dacula y Fernandez, 25, married, fishermen, a resident of Prk. Cadena de Amor; Usman Manabilang y imbingan aka TOTO, 25, married, fishermen and Noron Mawalaw y Jano, 58, married, fishermen, all are residents of Prk. Cadena de Amor, Brgy. Poblacion, Margosatubig.

Ecaldre said the government operatives confiscated the following items: assorted sizes of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with a total of estimated weight of 50 grams; 1 digital weighing scale; different illegal drugs paraphernalia and 2 pcs of Php500.00 bill used as buy-bust money.


Arrested suspects are now temporary detained at Margosatubig MPS lock-up cell while waiting the proper disposition of the case, Ecaldre added. (By J. Cadion)
