Mural Painting Competition


The PNP, in consonance with its transformation program, implemented its communication plan through the conduct of various activities to instill awareness, solicit involvement and encourage the commitment of all stakeholders towards the institutionalization and sustainability of the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L plan 2030 (peace and order agenda for transformation and upholding the rule of law) enhanced by the c, PNP’s flagship program-strategic focus “code-p: 2013 and beyond.

One of the activities initiated by this command is the two day mural painting (open) competition, to be held at Zamboanga del Sur police provincial office, Camp Abelon, Pagadian City on may 22-23, 2014 at 8:00 o’clock in the morning. The mural painting will be made on the front wall of the camp along the Lawis-wis Street. The theme of the mural painting will be the “PNP P.A.T.R.O.L Plan 2030, the PNP Transformation Raodmap”

Zamboanga del Sur police provincial office (ZSPPO) headed by Pssupt Sofronio Palaña Ecaldre – Provincial Director conduct a mural painting competition which is open to all professional artists with a maximum of 3 members of contestant per artwork. The medium of the artwork is water based to be painted in 1.5 x 4 meters plain wall based on the theme.

At exactly 9:00am of May 22, 2014, the competition is officially open. It composed of 14 teams from different places that will compete for the champion. The said competition is good for two (2) days for them to explore and create the best artwork that will relate to the theme.

On May 23, 2014 at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, the competition was formally ended. there were five (5) judges: Judge #1 is Hon. John C. Regala – Provincial Vice Governor, Judge #2 is Mrs. Alicia R. Anyayahan – Principal of Camp Abelon Elementary School, Judge #3 is Psupt James A. Turbela – Deputy Provincial Director for Operation, Judge#4 is Miss Merry Queen Ibona – Provincial Tourism Officer and Judge #5 Miss Pagadian candidate 2014 representative and was attended by the PPSC Company Commander, Officers from the City and Municipal Police Stations, PNP personnel of ZSPPO, NUPs, civilians, and other miss Pagadian candidates 2014.

Afterwards, awarding ceremony follows. The program starts with an opening prayer followed with welcome remarks by the Deputy Prov’l Director for administration, Psupt Leonardo Bala Olandesca, Jr.then, acknowledgement of the board of judges, awarding of winners, message from the vice governor and giving of tokens to the board of judges.

2nd Runner-up: Wall #4 painted by Geward J. Julagnol, Jan Lester R. Caylan, and Michael R. Alaya-ay


The activity ended successfully at about 5:30PM with the active support of the Provincial Director, Staff Officers, PNP Personnel of this PPO, Business and Sectoral Groups, and People behind the success of the program. (PO3 Gerben B. Gerale)
