PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, (July 9, MPF News) --- The Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Army (PA) implemented the Anti-Torture Law in full force.

The statement was announced Friday during the Media Forum and Press conference organized by the Amnesty International Philippines-Pagadian City Group.

AI Pagadian City Group assistant Region-9B coordinator Antonio Bayamban said participants who were invited are the personnel from the City Prosecutor’s Office, Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), police, military and the members of the media.

Zambo Sur police file charges against 2 captured NPA rebels

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, July 2 (PNA) -– Charges for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosive have been filed against two New People’s Army (NPA) rebels before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office here, a top police official said Wednesday.

Charged were Wilfedo Dalumos alias Ka Nick and Ka Tong-Tong and Edgar Cadilanza, who were captured Friday afternoon at Sitio Sagpang in Barangay Datagan, Guipos in this province.

Provincial Police Director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said Dalumos was charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act with recommended bail of P100,000.

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, June 28 (PNA) -- Combined military and police forces have captured two New People’s Army rebels following a clash in the hinterlands of Zamboanga del Sur, a military official announced Saturday.

Army’s First Infantry Division Public Affairs Officer-in-Charge Capt. Franco Suelto identified the captured NPA rebels as Wilfredo Dalumos alias Ka Nick and Ka Tong-Tong and Edgar Candilansa.

Suelto said they were captured Friday afternoon in Sitio Sagpang, Barangay Datagan, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

Suelto said the clash ensued when the troops returned fire after they were fired upon by the NPA rebels.
