Police announce release of public school official after 7 months of captivity

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Aug. 22 (PNA) -– Kidnappers have released a public school official snatched almost seven months ago in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, a top police official disclosed Friday.

Police Provincial director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said the victim, Rudy Luna, was released around 11:51 p.m. Tuesday at the fish port of Tukuran town in this province.

However, Ecaldre said Luna’s release was not immediately announced since a follow-up investigation has been conducted.

Ecaldre said Luna revealed during the debriefing conducted by the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) that he was made to board a motorized banca accompanied by two gunmen and left the place of his captivity around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Aug. 19 (PNA) -– The local police in partnership with the city government has trained selected policemen to comprise the “MotorCop” group to combat motorcycle-riding criminals in this city.


Supt. Glenn Dulawan, local police chief, said Tuesday the “MotorCop” group would be comprised of 30 policemen who have just completed a two-day training from Saturday until Sunday on gun handling while driving and marksmanship.

Joint Police Operatives seize 2-Shotgun and assorted ammunitions at ex-Vice Mayor Residence in Bayog




PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug. 12, 2014-MPF News) --- The Joint police operatives of Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, Provincial Public Safety Company and Bayog Municipal Police Station seized two 12 Gauge Shotguns and assorted ammunitions from the residence of ex-Vice Mayor in Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur during the raid Friday morning.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said the joint Police Operatives raid the residence of former Vice Mayor Romualdo Sta Ana Godin at Purok 4 Barangay Kahayagan in Bayog, Zamboanga del sur following the Search Warrant issued by Judge Arnold M. Diabo of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) of Margosatubig-Vincenso Sagun 9th Judicial Region, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur.

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Aug. 4 (PNA) -– The local police command has received two awards in recognition of the excellent accomplishments in law enforcement for the month of June in this city, a top police official announced Monday.

Provincial police director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said the two certificates of recognition were received by local police chief Supt. Glenn Dulawan during the monthly assessment and awarding ceremony held Friday at Camp Abelon here.

Ecaldre said one of the two certificates are in recognition of the local police's highest accomplishment in the campaign against loose firearms.
