Zambo Sur police nab NPA rebel

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, (June 25)  – The authorities have arrested a suspected member of the New People’s Army (NPA) in the nearby town of Mahayag, this province, a top police official announced Thursday.

Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre, provincial police director, identified the arrested NPA suspect as Roger Najini, a member of the NPA’s Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee.

Ecaldre said Najini was arrested Wednesday at Purok 1, Barangay Pugwan in the nearby Mahayag municipality in joint police manhunt operations of Regional Intelligence Uniti-9 (RIU9), Mahayag Municipal Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office.

He said Najini has standing warrant of arrest for murder with no recommended bail issued by a 9th Judicial Region, Branch 21, Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte (By JONG CADION)
