PDEA, Police arrest suspect for illegal drug trade and illegal possession of firearm

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboaga del Sur (Oct. 4, 2014) --- The joint forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Police Provincial Office successfully arrested suspect of illegal drug trade and the confiscation of his firearm with ammunitions in the nearby town of Labangan of this province Friday afternoon.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Sufronio Ecaldre identified the suspect as Jimkler Geguiera Y Tigley, 29 years old, single and a resident of Purok Mauswagun, Barangay Bulanit, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

He was arrested during the drug buy-bust operation particularly at Oberes Shop, Barangay Bulanit, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur after he agreed to sell and deliver to the policeman who posted as poseur buyer of illegal drugs, Ecaldre said.

The authorities confiscated from the suspect one heat sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated weight of 0.75 grams.

Also seized from the suspect one caliber .45 pistol (shooters) falcon Sam with serial nr F07051704 with one magazine assembly and eleven ammunitions for same caliber, one unit mobile phone, one unit single motorcycle Honda XRM color black without plate number and one Five Hundred Peso bill as buy-bust money, Ecaldre added.

Seized items were brought to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, Camp Abelon, this city for laboratory and ballistic examinations while the arrested suspect is now temporary detained at Camp Abelon lock-up cell for the filing of the case for violations of section 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165 and R.A. 10591 (jdc-MPF News)
