On December 14 and 15, 2015, Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of PSSupt Michael Mendoza Nicolas, conducted massive province-wide Lambat Sibat operations. Five sets of “One Time-Big Time” totaling to 30 operations were simultaneously carried out in Pagadian City and all other twenty six municipalities in a two-day duration.
The large-scale anti-criminality operations dubbed as “Christmas Hulidays and Happy Target Hardening” resulted to the arrest of 67 persons, of whom 2 are most wanted and the confiscation of 23 firearms, of which 5 are high-powered, 2 hand grenades, 2 dynamites, 112 sachets of shabu, assorted ammunition, different kinds of illegal drugs paraphernalia, and 25,000.00 pesos proceeds of illegal drug trade. The various law enforcement operations is composed of the execution of 28 Search Warrants, service of 14 Arrest Warrants for wanted and most wanted persons, 7 buy-bust operations on illegal drugs and 2 checkpoints.
All forces bolted-in to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Police Office for the extensive operations. The province-wide operations utilized almost 650 personnel
from Zambaonga del Sur Public Safety Company, Provincial Anti-illegal Drugs Task Force, PDEA, CIDT, 2ndMC, RPSB9, 53rd IB PA, and the 27 police stations of Zamboanga del Sur. Despite the number of operations, no one was injured on the side of the government troops while two suspects were killed when the raiding teams retaliated after each of them fired their guns at them.
This all-out offensive on anti criminality, which started with an operational plan was conceived from the “Lambat-Sibat” concept of the national headquarters to encase and seal a particular area and catch the criminal elements through execution of search warrants, service of arrest warrants ang other means of law enforcement operation. That’s the reason for the fusion of all law enforcement agencies and support of the AFP.
Effective intelligence monitoring, case build-up, close coordination among the operating units and the active participation of the community led to the success of the operations. The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office encourages other members of the community to contribute by providing information on criminal activities in your area. Your safety is our utmost concern that’s why confidentiality is paramount. Help us keep our province safe.
