PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Oct. 17 (PNA) -– Two members of a robbery-holdup group were arrested by policemen and five firearms were confiscated from them in a raid in the nearby town of Dinas, this province, on Thursday.

Provincial police director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre identified the arrested suspects as Abdulmaola Cosain and Abu Butiko. They were detained.

Ecaldre said Cosain and Butiko were arrested in Barangay Binoatan, Dinas municipality on the strength of a search warrant issued by the court.

The raiding team confiscated from the suspects an M-16 Armalite rifle, an M-14 rifle, a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .38 revolver, and a caliber .22 rifle.

Ecaldre said appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects. (PNA)

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Oct. 7 (PNA) -– Joint Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police operatives have seized an estimated P2.5 million worth of shabu and arrested three drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations in this city and in the nearby town of Tukuran, an official announced Tuesday.

           

Provincial police director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre identified the arrested suspects as Albadar Abdul, 22, of Jolo, Sulu, and Odeng Bashir, 40, of Sapad, Lanao del Norte and Hilal Bucay, 23, of Marawi City.

Ecaldre said Abdul was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:30 p.m. Monday in Barangay Sta. Lucia, this city.

PDEA, Police arrest suspect for illegal drug trade and illegal possession of firearm

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboaga del Sur (Oct. 4, 2014) --- The joint forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Police Provincial Office successfully arrested suspect of illegal drug trade and the confiscation of his firearm with ammunitions in the nearby town of Labangan of this province Friday afternoon.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Sufronio Ecaldre identified the suspect as Jimkler Geguiera Y Tigley, 29 years old, single and a resident of Purok Mauswagun, Barangay Bulanit, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur.

He was arrested during the drug buy-bust operation particularly at Oberes Shop, Barangay Bulanit, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur after he agreed to sell and deliver to the policeman who posted as poseur buyer of illegal drugs, Ecaldre said.

The authorities confiscated from the suspect one heat sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated weight of 0.75 grams.

Also seized from the suspect one caliber .45 pistol (shooters) falcon Sam with serial nr F07051704 with one magazine assembly and eleven ammunitions for same caliber, one unit mobile phone, one unit single motorcycle Honda XRM color black without plate number and one Five Hundred Peso bill as buy-bust money, Ecaldre added.

Seized items were brought to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, Camp Abelon, this city for laboratory and ballistic examinations while the arrested suspect is now temporary detained at Camp Abelon lock-up cell for the filing of the case for violations of section 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165 and R.A. 10591 (jdc-MPF News)
