PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, July 2 (PNA) -– Charges
for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosive have been filed
against two New People’s Army (NPA) rebels before the Provincial Prosecutor’s
Office here, a top police official said Wednesday.
Charged were Wilfedo Dalumos alias Ka Nick and Ka
Tong-Tong and Edgar Cadilanza, who were captured Friday afternoon at Sitio
Sagpang in Barangay Datagan, Guipos in this province.
Provincial Police Director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre
said Dalumos was charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 otherwise known as
the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act with recommended bail
of P100,000.
The duo were captured Friday afternoon following a brief
firefight with combined police and military forces in Barangay Datagan, Guipos,
this province.
Confiscated from their possession were an assault rifle
with ammunition, a fragmentation grenade and a mobile phone. (PNA)
